Lester Bloxham, 92

Lester Bloxham, of Grundy Center, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 1999 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center of natural causes. He attained the age of 92 years, eight months and eight days.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Pastor Daniel C. Graham officiated. A memorial fund has been established.

Lester was born on November 13, 1906 near Grundy Center the son of Peter and Charlotte "Lottie" (Wilson) Bloxham. He was united in marriage to Carrie Abels on September 24, 1933 in Grundy Center. Lester farmed his entire life around Grundy Center.

Lester was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Lester also enjoyed raising and racing horses.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie, son, Wendell; his parents; two brothers, Leland and Lloyd; and four sisters, Ethel Rouse, Ada Riemann, Edna Brown and Myrtle Paige.

Survivors include his two sons and their wives, Ronald and Charlene Bloxham of Grundy Center and Gordon and Pat Bloxham of Grundy Center; two grandchildren, Sarah and Lottie; and a brother-in-law, Carl Brown of Grundy Center.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
