Sunday morning, Oct. 14, 1900, occurred the death of Clyde Landes, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Landes, at their home in Felix No. 2, where he was born Dec. 16, 1883. Clyde was taken sick while visiting in Gladbrook. He was brought home by his father and all was done that human power could do but typhoid fever set in and took away the life of him who was loved by all that knew him. Clyde was a very kindhearted and intelligent boy and his death is an irreparable loss to his parents, relatives and schoolmates to whom he was especially dear. Funeral services were held Monday, conducted by Rev. E. Curliss in the church near his home and the remains laid to rest in the Benson cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all.
