On March 18, 1858, in Felix township, Grundy county, Iowa, was born to Morris and Louisa Haskin their second daughter, Clara A., who was married March 18, 1880, to L. J. Gould of Liscomb, Iowa. On March 19, 1900, she departed this life after suffering since last November from stricture of the stomach, leaving behind a faithful husband and four children, Roy H., Bessie May, Bertha Leola and Edwin Manley, also a brother, G. M. Haskin, and a sister, Florence Nelson, all of whom were with her to the last. All has been done that could be by relatives, assisted by kind friends who held the deceased in highest respect for her aim in life has been to live for the good she could do, and in so doing she won friends wherever she was and they feel that their loss is irreparable. The funeral was held Tuesday from the M.E. church of Whitten, interment taking place in the Benson cemetery.
