C. I. Albright Died Monday

Clarence I. (Duffy) Albright, 79, a resident of Grundy Center for over 77 years, passed away Monday morning, September 9, at 5 o'clock in the Grundy County Memorial hospital. Death was attributed to complications following surgery on September 8.

Funeral services were held at the Ferree-Abbas Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with burial in the Grundy Center cemetery. Pastor J. C. Ford of the First Baptist church officiated. Pallbearers were six grandsons, James, Ronald, John and Mark Albright, Steven Cummings and Michael Swift.

Mr. Albright was born January 3, 1889, at Mt. Carroll, Ill., the son of Amos and Eva VanNest Albright. The family moved to the Ivester community when Mr. Albright was 1 1/2 years old and remained there until he was five. They then moved to Grundy Center where he attended the Grundy Center school.

Clarence Albright and Lillie Purvis were married March 11, 1914, in Grundy Center. He followed the mason trade for many years and was also custodian in the Grundy Center schools. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1964.

Surviving are the widow; five children, Russell and Amos, of Grundy Center; Robert, Wood, Wis.; Mrs. Joe (Lois) Swift, Iowa City, and Mrs. Kenneth (Isabel) Cummings, Cedar Falls; also 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a twin sister, Mrs. Clara Davidson, Grundy Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister, who died in infancy.
