Willie Evert Ross Rites Tuesday in Estherville

Willie (Bill) Evert Ross, 71, Estherville, died from a lingering illness at 6 p.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Richard Pearson and the Rev. Bernard Johnson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with military graveside services.

Mr. Ross was born Sept. 3, 1902, in Wellsburg, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Everet A. Ross. He was married to Rosella Schroeder on April 18, 1946, in Wellsburg. He had farmed near Wellsburg and later lived in Titonka, Ruthven, Armstrong, Cylinder, Woden, Crystal Lake and Estherville, working as a mechanic.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Rosella, Estherville; three sons, Arthur of Estherville, Edward of Maxwell and James of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Leo (Lillian) Niemants, Omaha, Mrs. Lyle (Beverly) Turks, Des Moines, and Arnita Ross, Estherville, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marvin (Delilah) Peters, Forest City; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and four sisters, Mrs. Annie Bakker, Wellsburg, Mrs. Rena Miller, Dike, Mrs. Dena Harms, Wellsburg, and Mrs. Tena Miller, Spirit Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at any time today and until noon Tuesday at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville.

Funeral Services For Willie Ross

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Estherville for Willie Ross, 71, who died Saturday. He is survived by his wife and six children. Other survivors include four sisters Mrs. Anna Bakker and Mrs. Dena Harms of Wellsburg, and Mrs. Rena Miller of Dike, and Mrs. Heike Miller of Spirit Lake.
