John S. O'Connor, 83, Succumbs At Waterloo

John S. O'Connor, 83, of Dike and a lifelong resident of Grundy county, died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday of complications of his age at Woodlawn Convalescent Home in Waterloo where he had resided the past two years.

At the time of his death Mr. O'Connor owned a 400-acre farm in Grant township.

He was born July 8, 1883, in Beaman, the son of Henry and Mary Ann Roach O'Connor. He lived and farmed in the Dike area.

Mr. O'Connor was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dike.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Margaret Connell of Waterloo, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Oppold Funeral Home in Waterloo.
