Henry Stock Services Held

Henry W. Stock passed away on April 18, 1996. He was 82 years old. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Stock; two sons, Charles W. Stock of Everett, Washington and Robert H. Stock of Bradenton Beach, Florida; a daughter, Elizabeth Stock Palmer of Gambier, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Stock, the son of Herman R. and Grace Stock, was born in Aredale, Iowa, where the family resided until the spring of 1921 when Henry's father became the manager of the Farmers Elevator in Morrison, Iowa. Henry graduated from the Reinbeck High School in 1932 and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri. Over the years he was employed by the Grundy National Bank, Grundy Center; as an agent with the Internal Revenue Service in the Ft. Dodge, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Marshalltown offices; and the Weaver and Cessford Construction Companies of Iowa Falls and LeGrande. Henry was active as a Boy Scout Committeeman, a veteran of World War II, and a past commander of American Legion Post #349.

Memorial services for Mr. Stock were held at Sacred Heart Church, Grundy Center, April 22 at 9:30 a.m. with inurnment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Professional arrangements were in charge of the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center.
