Mrs. Frank Kopsa Died Saturday

Mrs. Frank (Alvina) Kopsa, died at the Grundy County Memorial hospital in Grundy Center April 17, 1976 at 8:50 p.m. at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 27 days. She was transferred to the hospital from the Long Term Care Unit one day before her death.

Rosary was recited at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Catholic church, Grundy Center. Monsignor Maurice Mullen officiated. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery. Ushers were Don Coleman and Wallace Norman. Mrs. Darrell Essen and Mrs. John O. Ash Sr. took care of the flowers.

She was born August 20, 1895, in Meyer, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Hemenn Durben. On November 25, 1915 at Meyer, Iowa she was united in marriage to Frank Kopsa. They lived and farmed in Grundy county southeast of Grundy Center until 1953 when he retired, and they moved to Grundy Center. She spent three weeks in January in the hospital, and was admitted to the Long Term Care unit of the county hospital in mid-February. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church, St. Martha Society, and was a Gold Star Mother in the American Legion Auxiliary. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Kopsa is survived by her husband, Frank, one son, Donald of RR1, Grundy Center, four daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Verina) Folkerts of Morrison, Mrs. LeRoy (Helen) Kock of Beaman, Mrs. Amos (Marian) Albright and Mrs. Irvin (Arlene) Stumberg of Grundy Center, also four brothers, four sisters, 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Edward Samuel, three brothers and three sisters.
