Rites Held For Anastasia Price
Mrs. Anastasia Price, 76, died at the Grundy County Memorial hospital in Grundy Center Monday, March 29, 1976 at 4:50 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center with Rev. Msgr. Maurice A. Mullan officiating. Pallbearers were James Lynch, Dick Lynch, Joe Hulne, Robert J. Connell, Douglas Arends and Martin Sharp. Don Coleman was usher, Howard David, William Slater and Wallace Norman provided cars for the family. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Grundy Center. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home.
She was born December 9, 1899 in Grundy county, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas W. and Johanna Hogan Connell. As a young girl the family moved to Minnesota. She returned to Grundy Center before her marriage to Ray W. Price on August 30, 1923 at the Sacred Heart catholic church in Grundy Center. She had made her home at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial hospital since her health started failing in recent years. Mrs. Price was a member of the Sacred Heart catholic church and Catholic Order of Foresters.
Mrs. Price is survived by one son Lester of Greenfield, Wis.; one granddaughter Susan. Mrs. Harold (Adeline) Lynch made her home with the Price family as a young girl as well as other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on January 1, 1944, and five brothers.
