Mrs. Will Connell Died Saturday

Mrs. William Connell died last Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Murphy, southeast of Dike. She had been in failing health during the past five years. She was 76 years old on the 28th of last July.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Grundy Center Monday morning. Services were conducted by Rev. Fr. J. A. Kress. Burial was by the side of the husband in the Catholic cemetery in Grundy Center.

Resided in County Most Of Her Life
Mrs. Connell was a daughter of Martin and Ellen Cullinan. She was born on a farm near Delavan, Ill., and she grew up there. She was married there to William Connell on February 11, 1903. The couple came to Grundy county after their marriage and began housekeeping on a farm near Beaman. They resided there several years, after which they moved to a farm north of Grundy Center. In 1937 Mr. and Mrs. Connell bought a home in Grundy Center and retired there. He died on May 12, 1945.

Surviving are one son Tom of Conrad. There are four surviving daughters. They are Eleanor, Mrs. Lawrence Murphy, Reinbeck; Ann, Mrs. George Fisher, Grundy Center; Mary, Mrs. Eugene Murphy, Dike; Anna, Mrs. Annis Hunt, Tama. The parents and one sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Other surviving relatives are one brother, Tom, Delavan, Ill.

Relatives from a distance who were here for the funeral service were: From Fremont and Delavan, Ill.: Tom Cullinan, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cullinan, Leo Cullinan, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Connell and daughter, Patsy Ryan and Bill Connell; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clark and Edward, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Heye Hemmen, Austin, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Dusvynski, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hanisch, Cedar Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Meaney, Greene; Mary Cullinan, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Connell and two sons, Mrs. Mert O'Connor and Mary, Waterloo.
