On Thursday, January 14th, the Death Angel entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Connell, in this city, and called away their only son, Elmer Thomas, at the age of 19 years, 8 months and 4 days.

The deceased was born on a farm near Grundy Center, Iowa, May 10, 1895. At the age of nine, he, with his parents, moved to Dora, Minn., where he resided until fifteen months ago, when he returned to Grundy Center, where he has since made his home.

Although a sufferer of diabetes for almost three years, Elmer was never known to complain, keeping up his cheery disposition to the last. His career, though short, was a perfect resignation to God's holy will.

Besides the bereaved father and mother, he leaves five sisters to whom on Tuesday, as he felt his condition becoming worse, he bade a peaceful "Goodnight," then closed his eyes as his life tide ebbed away until the end came at 11 o'clock on Thursday.

The funeral service conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. P. Hogan, were held at the Sacred Heart church at 9:30 Saturday forenoon, attended by his many sorrowing relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery, his cousins being his pall bearers.
