Rites Tuesday for Ida M. Clark

Ida M. Clark, age 77, passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis hospital in Waterloo, following a virus condition of long duration. A rosary was held at the Ferree Funeral Home Monday evening, with services from the Sacred Heart church in Grundy Center, Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, with Father Bodensteiner officiating.

Ida M. Clark was born Feb. 24, 1883, at Sterling, Ill., the daughter of John and Mary Gaffey. She married F. H. Clark in Black Hawk county in 1917. They were employed in a bank in Traer for a number of years before moving to Waterloo. They later farmed in Grundy county for 25 years.

Mrs. Clark graduated from Drake University in 1912. She taught rural schools several years and also worked in Black's store when they lived in Waterloo.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1952. Preceding her also were three brothers and one sister. Surviving are 11 nieces and nephews.
