Orrin Baker, 87, Conrad, Dies
Orrin W. Baker, 87, longtime Conrad area carpenter, died Sunday afternoon in Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown, where he had been taken from the Oak View Nursing Home at Conrad earlier during the day.
Requiem High Mass was held at the Sacred Heart Church, Grundy Center, Wednesday morning Oct. 25th. The Mass was celebrated by monsignor John Smith. Rosary was at Johnstons Funeral Home Tuesday evening.
Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery, Grundy Center.
Casket bearers were Vane Graham, Karl Kopsa, William Friend, Richard Carner, Dr. J. L. Hesselhuus, Floyd Stevens.
Orrin Baker was born June 26, 1878, Freeport, Ill., son of Robert J. Baker and Louiza Ank Baker. He married Mary Ann O'Connor Feb. 8, 1900 in Grundy Center.
Surviving includes son, O. D. Baker of Fond du Lac, Wis.; sister, Mrs. George Jens, Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, John Baker, Madison, S.D.; 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 3 sons and 1 daughter.
