Donald R. Jacobson, 82, of Waterloo, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

He was born June 4, 1929 in Davenport, the son of Elroy and Edna Goddard Jacobson. He married Norma Buchan December 31, 1955 in Nashua. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2008.

Mr. Jacobson was employed by John Deere & Company for 27 1/2 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, going for rides in the car, and watching CNN on TV.

He is survived by one son, Dewayne (Sandy) Jacobson of Waterloo; one daughter, Debbie (Shane) Jacobson of Cedar Falls; one sister, Marlyn (Robert) Charlton of Waterloo; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Robert Jacobson.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
