Union Rites Fri. For Mrs. Dickenson
Funeral services were conducted from the Biersborn Funeral Home Friday, August 22, for Mrs. Geneva Dickenson, 75, who died Tuesday at the Grinnell Hospital following a prolonged illness.
Rev. Preston Hinderks officiated at the services with Mrs. Fred Wyatt and Mrs. Lois Salvanico as flower ladies. Organist was Mrs. Rex Lewis. Casket bearers were Jack Dickenson, Robert Dickenson, David Dickenson, Richard Mulligan, Brian Criswell, Roger Martin, Richard Criswell and Ronald Criswell, with interment in the Benson Cemetery.
Mrs. Dickenson was born June 17, 1894 in Orion, Ill., to Charles and Addie Fuller Engle. She married David J. Dickenson August 9, 1911 in Gibson, Ia. The couple lived in Hardin county all but six years of their married life, when they were in Oklahoma. She has lived since March of this year with a daughter in Grinnell.
She was a member of the Gifford Methodist Church and the Gold Star Mothers Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters and one son.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roy Criswell of Grinnell; one son, Adrian Dickenson of Gifford; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Inez Wilson of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Mildred Fletcher of Canton, S.C. and Mrs. Carson (Alvena) Wilson of Illinois.
