Rites Tuesday For Mrs. Amundson, 53

Mrs. Russell Amundson, 53, of Whitten died early Sunday morning at the Eldora Community Hospital of complications following major surgery.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Christian Church in Whitten with the Rev. Robert Dally officiating. Burial will be in the Benson Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Biersborn Funeral Home in Union.

Pallbearers will be John Cakerice, Virgil Mitchell, Howard Long, Donald Hauser, Herbert Hauser and Clifton Crosser with flower ladies Mrs. Virgil Mitchell and Mrs. John Cakerice. Gary Hauser will serve as organist and Russell Kruse as soloist.

Doris E. Beeman Amundson was born Feb. 4, 1916, at Conrad, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Beeman. She graduated from Conrad high school in 1933 and was married on March 31, 1937, to Russell Amundson. The couple have lived in Whitten area for 20 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include Mr. Amundson; one daughter, Mrs. Dwayne Cakerice of Whitten; two sons, Lyle Amundson of Bethalto, Ill., and Wm. Amundson of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; one brother, W. D. Beeman of Dike; and one sister, Mrs. Wilbur Long of Del Mar, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents.
