Sheller Burial For Former Area Pastor's Wife

Services for Mrs. Charles Albin, 69, of Marshalltown, whose husband served the Ivester Church of the Brethren for a number of years, were held at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren in Marshalltown Thursday. Mrs. Albin died Monday, Jan. 27, at the Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown.

Officiating was Rev. Lyle Albright of Dallas Center, Rev. John Wagner of Lennox, Rev. John Ditmars of Eldora and Rev. Charles Lunkley of Council Bluffs.

Casket bearers were Ross Howard, Gerald Brothers, Keith Fry, Fred Naylor, Harvey Drury and Robert Ellis, with burial in the Sheller Cemetery east of Eldora.

Mrs. Albin was born July 10, 1899 at Summit Mills, Pa., the daughter of John and Mathilda Fike Vought. She received her education in Chicago, both in high school and at the Bethany Training School.

She married Charles Albin in Chicago, September 9, 1928. They lived 19 years in Ottumwa where her husband was pastor, and east of Eldora for 14 years while Rev. Albin served the Ivester Church. They had been at the Iowa River Church in Marshalltown for the past year and one half.

She was preceded in death by two half-sisters and four half-brothers.

In addition to her husband, her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Albert, at home, and Mrs. LaVonne Kruschwitz, Union; two sons, Wesley P. Albin, Des Moines, and Robert S. Albin, McPherson, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Ted (Beulah) Hoffeditz, Green Castle, Pa.; five brothers, Homer Vought, Minneapolis, Minn., Charlie Vought, Terra Alta, W. Va., Ray Vought, Myersdale, Pa., Emmert Vought, Huntington, Ind., and Hurley Vought, North Manchester, Ind.; two half-brothers, Norman Vought, Helena, Mont., and Emza Page, Oakland, Md.; and five grandchildren.
