Everett N. Wood Dies; Wills Body To Medical Study

Everett N. Wood, 1609 Wildwood drive NE, a mechanical engineer and Cedar Rapids resident 26 years, died Friday following a long illness.

Born April 29, 1901, at New Vienna, Ohio, he was married to Lucile Long Aug. 16, 1930, at Mason City. He taught school at Mason City from 1931-1935 and was associated with Iowa Manufacturing Co. in the research and development department from 1944 to 1957. In 1957 he became associated with Universal Engineering in the research and development department. Mr. Wood was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He had attended the old Des Moines university and later Iowa State university at Ames.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Karl Marsh of Piqua, Ohio; two granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Foster of San Antonio, and Mrs. Albert Rust of Sheffield; five brothers, Willard, of Lakeland, Fla., Dr. Robert Wood, of Hampton, Va., Harold, of Iowa Falls; Dr. Maynard Wood, of Lincoln Neb., and Raymond Wood, of Miami.

Memorial services: First Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. Monday by Dr. Francis W. Pritchard. The body has been given to the University of Iowa, college of medicine for medical study and research. The family suggests that friends may, if they wise, contribute to the Heart fund or the First Presbyterian church memorial fund.
