Elmer Rathman Buried At Dike

A former Dike resident, Elmer R. Rathman, 70, was buried at the Elmwood cemetery at Dike with Dike Post American Legion in charge of military rites. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Lloyd R. Bair, pastor, officiating.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1895, in Grundy county near Dike, the son of Henry and Emma Roehes Rathman. He married Myrtle Anfinson in Dike on March 6, 1922. He was a World War I veteran. Before retiring five years ago he farmed and was in the trucking business. For the past several years he resided in Waterloo.

He is survived by his widow, one sister, Mrs. Clara Schmidt of Cedar Heights, one nephew and three nieces.
