Services Held For Retired Grundy Farmer

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for Will Lechner, 80, Grundy county retired farmer.

Services were at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with Rev. Homer Larsen, pastor, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves, Dike, were vocalists for the services. Burial was in the Hillcrest cemetery in Grundy county. The Dahl funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Will Lechner of 1115 W. 11th St., Cedar Falls, passed away on Saturday morning of a stroke. He had been hospitalized or bedfast since last December.

He was born May 3, 1886 in Illinois, the son of John and Barbara Lechner. His first wife was Minnie Behrens. She preceded him in death. On Sept. 24, 1939 he was married to Marian Oliver in Waterloo.

He had always worked and farmed in Grundy county until his retirement to Cedar Falls in 1948.

Survivors are his widow; one son, Oscar of Rt. 4, Cedar Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Adolph (Leona) Pedersen of 721 State St.; one brother, Ed of 815 W 3rd St., both of Cedar Falls; one sister, Mrs. Anna Rider of 437 Vaughn St., Waterloo and three grandchildren.
