Funeral Friday At W'burg Church For Rena Freerksen

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church for Mrs. Rena C. Freerksen, 82, who died last Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hibbard Moore in Eldora.

The Rev. Dewey Lampbrecht, pastor of the Owasa Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. Henry VandeVoort was organist and Mrs. Jim Wilms was vocalist. Pall bearers were Edward A. Bear, H. A. Eckhoff, Herman Groote, Ralph Johnson, Harold J. Luiken and Earl W. Stupp. Mrs. Earl W. Stupp and Mrs. Julius Wilts were flower attendants. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Rena C. Freerksen, the daughter of Luppe and Susan Snittjer Claassen, was born Jan. 22, 1884 in Grundy Center. On Jan. 20, 1904 she was married to John J. Freerksen at Wellsburg. Mr. Freerksen died at Grinnell on July 24, 1947.

The deceased lived in Grundy county the early part of her life. Between 1947 and 1962 she had resided in Marshalltown. Since 1962 she had lived in Eldora.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Hibbard (Arleen) Moore of Eldora; three sons, Leslie J. Freerksen of Covina, California; Arthur J. Freerksen of Des Moines and Elmer J. Freerksen of Kansas City, Mo.; one step-sister, Mrs. Dick Rewerts of Allison; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Those who preceded her in death were her husband, her parents, four brothers, one sister and two step-brothers.
