Mrs. Chrisman Dies At Eldora Hospital

Services for Mrs. Alfred M. Chrisman, Sr., 67, Felix township resident, who died in Eldora Memorial Hospital following a heart attack and stroke Saturday morning were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Whitten Christian Church.

The Rev. Lehman Messley officiated. Burial was in Benson Cemetery east of Whitten. Biersborn Funeral Home, Union, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chrisman was born in Lowe, Kansas, July 6, 1899, a daughter of Frederick A. and Cora Dannick Wiley. She was reared and educated in Kansas. She taught school both in the country and in public systems in Peru, Kansas. She was married to Alfred Morgan Chrisman Sr., Whitten, August 25, 1918 in Fedan, Kansas.

They lived in Kansas before moving to Iowa in 1934, where they farmed in the Whitten and Marshalltown communities. In 1945 they bought a farm east of Whitten where she lived until death.

Mrs. Chrisman was a member of the Whitten Christian Church. She was active in church activities.

Survivors are a son, Alfred Jr., of Whitten and a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Ruth Elaine) Walters of rural Eldora; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1965.
