Mrs. Ida Cakerice Dies In Eldora

Mrs. Harry Cakerice who resided on a farm in Melrose township several years, died Sunday at the Eldora hospital. She was 78 years old. She was born in North Carolina and came to Grundy county at the age of 20. She was married to Harry Cakerice in February, 1912. They farmed in the Ivester neighborhood until 1933 when they moved to Eldora. She was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren.

Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Ivester church. Burial will be in the Sheller cemetery.

Survivors include her widower, one son Kenneth of Eldora, one nephew, Walter of Winston-Salem and one niece, Mrs. Irvin Schmidt of Hillsboro, Kan., who were both reared in the Cakerice home; four brothers, Frank of Marshalltown; Earl of Ankeny; Oscar of Lakeside, Calif., and Roy of Winston-Salem, N.C., 2 sisters, Mrs. Rose Palmer and Mrs. Lottie Kruger of Winston-Salem, N.C., and 7 grandchildren.
