Mrs. Paul Bantz Died Friday

Mrs. Paul Bantz, age 60, died Friday morning at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Wednesday. Services were Monday, May 1, at 3 p.m. at the Engelkes Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Holland cemetery with Rev. John S. Meyer officiating.

Mrs. Paul Bantz was born Mar. 19, 1907, at New Providence, Iowa. Germa was the daughter of George and Minnie Rhodes. She married Paul Bantz January 3, 1930 at Toledo, Iowa.

They lived in Chicago, Oregon, Des Moines, Zearing, and came to Wellsburg in 1944, where they owned and operated a cafe.

In 1956 they went to Walker, Minn., where they owned and operated the Lakeview Resort. Late last October she became a patient at the Grundy County Memorial hospital. She was there four months, and for two months she was at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Nederhoff, at Holland.

She returned to the hospital Wednesday, April 26, and passed away early Friday morning, April 28.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Nederhoff; one son, Robert Bantz of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Glen Rhodes of Long Beach, Calif., and Cecil Rhodes of Marshalltown; one sister, Mrs. Ella Kurth of Encino, Calif.; four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
