John J. Willard Dies Suddenly

John J. Willard died at his home in Grundy Center at 1:30 Saturday morning, following a heart attack which came on quite suddenly. He had not been afflicted with heart trouble previous to the attack. He would have been 86 years old had he lived until the 15th of this month.

He was born March 15, 1873, in Grundy county and resided here all of his life. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Willard. He grew up and resided on a Grundy county farm until 51 years ago when he and his family moved to a small acreage in east Grundy Center.

Funeral services were at the Ferree Chapel in Grundy Center at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Heiniger, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Surviving are the wife, two sons, one grandson and several nephews and nieces who reside in Oregon.
