Will Tack Dies at Rochester Hospital

Will Tack died at the M. E. Hospital in Rochester, Minn., Friday forenoon. He was taken to the Rochester hospital on Tuesday of last week. He had been afflicted with cancer only a few months. He was 71 years old on December 3rd. He was born in Germany and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Tack. He came to this country and to Grundy county with his parents when he was a small child, and grew up on a Grundy county farm.

February 26th, 1924, Will Tack and Carrie Kiewiet were married. They resided on a Colfax township farm until 1952 when they moved to Grundy Center. A year later they moved to the former Doughty farm east of Grundy Center. They then returned to Grundy Center.

Harold Engelkes took his ambulance to Rochester Sunday morning and brought the body to the Engelkes Funeral Home. A short service was held there at one o'clock on Wednesday and later at the Colfax Presbyterian church. Rev. W. Eekhoff officiated at the service. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Surviving are the wife and two adopted daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Bernard Buskohl, Holland, and Mrs. Verlyn Schrage from Bristow. There are four grandchildren. Other surviving members of the family are three brothers, Richard Tack, Wellsburg, and Philip and Weyo, Grundy Center.
