John H. Buhman, 83, of Holland, died July 17 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were July 21 at Liberty Baptist Church, Dike. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. A memorial fund has been established.

John was born April 13, 1921, in rural Reinbeck, Grundy County, the son of Henry and Ella (Reimer) Buhman. He received his education at Grant #8 rural country school. On July 24, 1941, John was united in marriage to Marcella Boldt at Amity Presbyterian Church, rural Reinbeck. After their marriage, John and Marcella farmed at the same farm in rural Reinbeck for 53 years. In the spring of 1994, they retired and moved to Holland. John attended Liberty Baptist Church in Dike. He enjoyed polka dancing.

He is survived by his wife Marcella of Holland; two daughters, Margaret Long of Leawood, KS and Marian Buhman of Holland; one son, David Buhman and his wife Rebecca of Ackley; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; two step-great-granddaughters; and one sister Lucille Anderson of Reinbeck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Buhman; and one brother, Lester Buhman.
