Francis Joseph "Skee" Gutosky, of Grundy Center, died May 20 at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were May 24 at the First Baptist Church, Grundy Center. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Francis was born January 27, 1939, in Lopez, PA, the son of Adam Raymond and Mary P. (Manchesi) Gutosky. Francis graduated from Turnpike High School in Mildred, PA. On July 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to Sandy Oulman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center. Francis served almost 10 years in the United States Army. After his service to our country, Francis and Sandy moved to Grundy Center. Francis worked for Horbach Furniture for a couple years before he worked in law enforcement. He served as a Grundy County Deputy and later as Sheriff of Grundy County. He then went to work as the Chief of Police in Grundy Center. After leaving the city, Francis went to work as a carpet layer working in all the surrounding communities. Francis was a former member of the Kiwanis and of the Sheriffs and Deputies Association.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy; sons, Danny Gutosky and his wife Sandy of Rockwall, TX and David Gutosky and his wife Esther of Grundy Center; six grandchildren; four brothers, Adam Gutosky and his wife Susan of Langhorn, PA, Ray Gutosky and his wife Ruth of Audubon, PA, Joe Gutosky and his wife Sandy of Norwich, NY and Ron Gutosky and his wife Deb of Dushore, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
