MILLER, RIDDLE, SAMPSON

George C. Miller, 60, of Grundy Center, died April 14 at his residence. Following cremation, private family memorial services were held April 17. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. A memorial fund has been established.

George Clifford Miller was born on December 21, 1943, the son of Harley Ray and Janetta Josephine (Riddle) Miller in Melcher. George attended and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1963. After high school, George attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. George then moved back to Dallas for a short time before moving to Waterloo in 1965. On December 29, 1972, George was united in marriage to Geraldine Sampson. They made their home in Grundy Center. George worked for Standard Distributing in Waterloo for 10 years and then began employment with Grundy Center Utilities working as a lineman and plant operator for 13 years. George also owned Sir George's Bar in Dike for a number of years. George's wife, Geraldine, died on December 15, 1988.

George loved music and collecting clowns. He also loved to spend time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his two sons, Bryan Miller and his wife Rocky of Aplington and Wade Miller and his wife Melissa of Hiawatha; three daughters, Brenda DiConza and her husband Bob of Fitchburg, MA, Becky Fowler and her husband Jay of N. Branford, CT and Janetta Klar and her husband, Kendall of Grundy Center; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Herron and her husband Clayel of Lacona, Elzora Anderson and her husband Wayne of Knoxville and Margaret Comito and her husband Richard of Waterloo; and three brothers, Merrill Mosher of Indianola, Albert "Ross" Miller and his wife Jo of Des Moines and John Miller and his wife Brenda of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother, William Miller; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Freeseman.
