Mildred B. Karkosh, 84, of Reinbeck, passed away on March 14 at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. March 17, at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. Burial followed in the Reinbeck Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Mildred Beatrice (Halupnick) was born on June 26, 1919, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Pecenka) Halupnick in Lincoln Township of Black Hawk County, where she grew up attending country school. On Jan. 26, 1938, Mildred married Adolph W. Karkosh of Hudson.

Mildred is survived by three daughters, Sharlene (Vernon) Hoeg of Traer, Joyce (Randall) Paterson of Sierra Vista, AZ, Gerald "Geri" (Jerry) Walter of Marion, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers, Alfred Halupnick of Hudson, James Halupnick of Lee Summitt, MO; sisters: Betty Rund of Traer, Phyllis Hill of Bettendorf, and Ramona Westergaard of Kendallville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adolph, sister, Madeline Rogers, and brother, William Halupnick.
