Alberta Louella Ralston, 96, of Grundy Center, died January 26 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Memorial services were January 30 at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Alberta Louella Ralston, the daughter of Simon and Bertha (Gallagher) Bockes, was born September 7, 1907, on the family farm in Grundy County. Alberta was united in marriage to Elon Ralston on December 10, 1925, in Grundy Center. Alberta worked in the kitchen at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Grundy Center United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elon in 1954; her parents; an infant son, Merle; four sons-in-law, Richard Shaw, Barry Cosford, Kay Reynolds and Robert Berger; four brothers, Bert, John, Clarence and Dale Bockes; and two sisters, Lura Clinite and Vernie Joyce.

Alberta is survived by her six children, Darleen and her husband Carroll Haren of Grundy Center, Margie Reynolds of Grundy Center, Leonard Ralston and his wife Donna of Grundy Center, Marvin Ralston and his wife Rosie of Grundy Center, Cheryl Berger of Vinton and Susan Cosford of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
