Dennis L. Slinker, 56, of Marshalltown, died January 17 at his home. Funeral services will be January 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Conrad United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Conrad Cemetery with military rites by the Conrad American Legion Post #681. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established.

Dennis was born April 8, 1947, the son of Donald R. and Inez A. (Brown) Slinker. He graduated from BCL High School in 1966. He married Carol Ray on Dec. 7, 1973. He had served in the United States Army from October 11, 1966 to September 21, 1968. He was a mechanic at Barry's Auto Parts.

Survivors include his mother; a son; three daughters; a brother; three sisters; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and his father.
