Berniece M. Hughes, 82, of Conrad, died January 15 at the Community Medical Center in Monmouth, IL. Funeral services were January 20 at Conrad Assembly of God Church. Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Berniece was born February 23, 1921, the daughter of Andrew and Elsie J. (Stokes) Wheeler. On January 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to Glen F. Hughes. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
