Elizabeth "Betty" Hawk, 82, of Grundy Center, died January 9 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Memorial services were January 12 at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Lafayette and Viola (Brayton) Tripp, was born July 8, 1921, in Somers. Betty was married to Perry Kimerer. They later divorced. On July 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Max Hawk in Calhoun County. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; her parents; a son, Bruce Kimerer; a daughter, Becky Strosnider; and a sister, Mary Allbaugh.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Tom and his wife Nikki Hawk of Tigard, OR and Bill and his wife Mary Hawk of Grundy Center; a daughter, Trudy and her husband Matt Holden of Portland, ME; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilda Hunter, Janice Johnson and Truth Neill; and one daughter-in-law, Cherie Souhrada of Grundy Center.
