KRUSE, FELDCAMP, TOOMSEN

Albert T. Kruse, 101, of Wellsburg, died at his home from natural causes on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg. Pastor Bruce Zimmermann officiated. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

He was born Aug. 12, 1899, in Wellsburg, the son of Tom and Hiska (Feldcamp) Kruse. He attended country school in the Wellsburg and Parkersburg areas and later attended Grundy Christian College in Grundy Center. In 1922, he started farming and on June 11, 1925 married Kate Toomsen in Ackley. He had farmed for the majority of his life and had worked for a short time as a mechanic for Selby Jones. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

He is survived by a son, LeRoy (Ebbie) Kruse of Wellsburg; a brother, Harvey (Bonnie) Kruse of Allison; by grandchildren, Lisa (Mrs. Michael) Davis, Kent (Barb) Kruse and Mark (Debbie) Kruse; and by seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate in 1980; parents; son, Darvin, who went down with the ship "The Indianapolis" when it was torpedoed near Guam in July of 1945; infant brother, Albrecht; brothers, Peter and Corneil; and sister, Annie.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
