Helen J. Boelman, 83, of Ackley, passed away Friday, August 20, 1999, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home in Ackley with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial was in the St. Peter's Cemetery, rural Wellsburg.

Helen was born March 9, 1916, in Grundy Center the daughter of John and Trena Romeling Kiewiet. She attended Holland country school.

She was married to George Boelman on June 13, 1934, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Wellsburg. She had been employed by Stokley's U.S.A. in Ackley. She was a member of the Ackley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Caroline) Royer of Reinbeck, Mrs. Ron (Marjorie) Fimon of Ackley, Mrs. Carl (Beverly) Wubbena of Byron, CA, and Mrs. Ron (Connie) Hurley of Iowa Falls; one son, Steven Boelman and his wife Eva of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents; two grandsons, Marty J. Wubbena and Robin Lynn Warren; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Warren, and two brothers, Jake Kiewiet and one in infancy.

Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home, Ackley, was in charge of the arrangements.
