Services Held For Mrs. Lena VanLoh
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Van Loh were held on Friday afternoon, March 8, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Officiating at the services was Ronald Fisher. Mrs. Allen Spieker was organist. Two duet numbers were given by Mrs. Ronald Fisher and Mrs. Frederick Meyer. Mrs. Jerry DeBoer and Mrs. Elwin Finger were flower attendants. Henry Feikes and Frederick Vanderwerf were ushers. Pallbearers were Bernard Buskohl, Jake B. Lindaman, Harold Lindaman, Billy Klingenborg, Warren Lindaman and Lloyd Lindaman. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mrs. Van Loh was born on Oct. 13, 1890, to Jacob and Katie Greenfield Lindaman in Colfax township, Grundy county, Iowa.
On Jan. 25, 1917, she was united in marriage to Riebke Van Loh. To this union one daughter, Johanna, was born. During their married life they resided on a farm in German township for 18 years. After the death of her husband on Oct. 14, 1951 she and her daughter Johanna left the farm and made their home in Aplington.
Mrs. Van Loh passed away at 12:50 p.m. in the Ellsworth hospital in Iowa Falls following a short illness. She attained the age of 83 years, 4 months and 22 days.
In life she was a faithful member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Wellsburg.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Johanna, two sisters: Mrs. Martha Akkerman of Wellsburg and Mrs. Nanne Klingenborg of Aplington; also two brothers: John J. Lindaman of Wellsburg and Jake J. Lindaman of Ackley.
Preceding the deceased in death were her husband, her parents, four brothers, Hie, Henry, William and Ben; also three sisters, Mrs. Anna Buskohl and Mrs. Kate Van Loh, and one in infancy.
