Wolbert Hinders of Ackley Passes Away, Services Held Mon.
Funeral services for Wolbert Hinders of Ackley were held Monday afternoon, November 19, at 1:30 p.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley with the Rev. John Heinbuch officiating. Interment was in the cemetery of St. Peter's United Church of Christ of Wellsburg.
Mr. Hinders died Friday, November 16, in Ellsworth hospital, Iowa Falls.
He was born in Bunde, Ostfriesland, Germany, December 2, 1900, the son of George and Fanna Hinders. He came to the United States as a young man in 1924 and settled in German township.
On February 21, 1931 he and Anna Vanderwerf were married and they lived in German township for a year, then moved to a farm north of Ackley. After living 17 years there, they moved to their present home west of Ackley.
Mr. Hinders was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife; four children, Glennus of Collins, Iowa, Shirlene (Mrs. Herman Mulder) of Parkersburg, Russell, of Hampton and a stepson, Frederick Vanderwerf of Wellsburg; and a sister in Germany.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, George.
