Funeral Services Held on Wednesday For Walbert Boelman

Walbert Boelman died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harm Grimmius, in Grundy Center Monday, June 15. He had been bed-fast for the past eight weeks.

Funeral services were held at Brandt's Funeral Home in Ackley Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Earl Marlink, pastor of the Ackley Christian Reformed Church. Interment was in St. Peter's E. and R. cemetery, Wellsburg.

Mr. Boelman was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, November 19, 1877. He came to the United States as a child and in 1900 married Johanna Lindeman. They lived on farms in Grundy, Franklin and Hardin county, before retiring to live in Ackley.

They became the parents of 11 children, 10 of whom survive. Wolbert, Jr. passed away at the age of 12 years. Mrs. Boelman died in July, 1954.

Surviving are three sons and seven daughters: Mrs. Johannes Miller, Mrs. Henry Finger, Ackley; Mrs. Lester Williams, Toledo; George Boelman, Ackley; Mrs. Grimmius, Grundy Center; Arnold Boelman, Morrison; William Boelman, Ackley; Mrs. Dick Werkman, Holland; Mrs. Janet Williams and Mrs. Melvin Meints, Ackley; 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Ben of Ackley and George of Aplington; and five sisters, Mrs. Fannie Boelman, Mrs. Gertie Kuper of Ackley, and Mrs. Minnie Boelman and Mrs. Tillie Finger of Aplington and Mrs. Hermina Janssen of Wellsburg.
