Sudden Heart Attack Wednesday Fatal To Kasper Boelman

Kasper Boelman died suddenly at his home on Sherman Avenue Wednesday evening. He and Mrs. Boelman had been gone for the day, and shortly after their return he suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's E. and R. Church of Wellsburg, following prayer service at his home at 12:20 p.m. The Rev. Keith Klosterman will conduct the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Boelman was born in Germany April 10, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joice Boelman. He came to the United States in 1901, and after living in Belmond for two years, came to the Ackley community, where he has since made his home.

He and Fannie Boelman were married September 20, 1906, and they lived on farms in this area. For 17 years before moving into Ackley in February, they farmed just west of town. They celebrated their 53rd anniversary with their family last week.

Mr. Boelman was a faithful member of St. Peter's E. and R. Church of Wellsburg for many years, and had served as deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie; seven children: Tillie (Mrs. Jerry DeVries), Joe, George, Bert, Theda (Mrs. Gerald Janssen), Calvin and William, who all live in or near Ackley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Will and Nysco of Belmond, and a half-brother, Meint Wubbena of Ackley. One daughter preceded him in death at the age of six years.
