Ackley Man Dies

Ackley, Ia.--Kobus Van Heiden, 73, died at his home Friday following heart attack. He was born May 15, 1875, in German township, Grundy county, where he married and lived many years. His wife died in 1938. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carles Marquart, Jennie Van Heiden, both of Ackley, Mrs. Melvin Freeseman, Steamboat Rock, and one son, Charles, Ackley.

Ackley--Funeral services for Kobus Van Heiden, 73, who died Friday of a heart attack, will be Monday at 1:45 p.m. at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church, six miles southeast of Ackley; burial will be beside the body of his wife, who died in 1938; born in German township, Grundy county; married Jennie Fluth, made their home on the farm for many years; leaves son and three daughters, a brother, John, Aplington, and a sister, Mrs. Hilka Miller, Ackley.

Kobus Van Heiden Dies At Ackley

Kobus Van Heiden, an early resident of German township, died at his home in Ackley last Friday following a heart attack. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Van Heiden was born on a farm in German township and grew up there. He continued to reside there after his marriage until three years ago when he moved to Ackley to make his home with his daughter. His wife died in 1938.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Siemsen church with the local pastor officiating. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Marquart and Jennie Van Heiden from Ackley and Mrs. Melvin Freesman, Steamboat Rock.
