Sinning Obituary

Harry S. Sinning, son of Sinus and Mathilda Sinning, was born February 28, 1893, in Hardin County south of Ackley, and passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 9, at 10:45 o'clock. He was baptized in the Christian faith in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church and was a member of that church for many years. On Nov. 18, 1916, he was united in marriage with Louise Kies at Carnarvon, Iowa. To this union five children were born.

In 1928 Harry and his wife transferred their membership to St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, where he maintained membership until death.

In 1940 Mr. and Mrs. Sinning and their family removed to a farm west of Ackley and Mr. Sinning retired from active farming because of a heart ailment. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one sister, and one brother. Surviving are his wife, Louise; one daughter, Mrs. Woodrow Heitland; four sons: Surles, Wilbert, Floyd, and Harry Jr.; one grandchild--all of Ackley; five sisters: Mrs. Arend Arends; Mrs. Henry Meyer, Britt; Mrs. Harry England and Mrs. Arthur Nelson, Alden; Miss Elizabeth Sinning, Ackley; one brother Henry, Steamboat Rock and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted Thursday at the Sinning home and at 1:30 at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. F. C. Kroll officiating.

Committal service will be in the East Friesland Church cemetery.
