Ubbe Heetland Dies In Arizona; Funeral Services Friday P.M.
Ubbe Heetland, former well known resident of Etna township, died Monday in Tucson, Arizona, where he and his wife have been living for the past five years.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. C. F. Siemsen. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Heetland accompanied her husband's body to Ackley and coming with her were her daughter, Mrs. Terry Townsend of Los Angeles and her son Carrol of Sepulveda, California.
Mr. Heetland was born in Hardin county on the farm southwest of Ackley where his son Paul J. now lives, June 12, 1890. He was the son of Paul and Eaka Heetland.
On January 20, 1915, he and Carrie Sinning of Lennox, S.D. were married. After living in Clay township for a time, they moved to the farm six miles southwest of Ackley where their son Dale now lives. They made the move to Tucson for Mr. Heetland's health, as he suffered from asthma.
Mr. Heetland was a member of the East Friesland Church from his youth until a short time ago, when he and Mrs. Heetland transferred their membership to the Presbyterian Church in Tucson.
The couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in January with all their children with them for the happy occasion.
Survivors of Mr. Heetland include his wife; six children: Mrs. Terry Townsend (Annabelle), Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lloyd Stuber (Fern), Springfield, Ill., Paul and Dale Heetland, Ackley; Carroll, Sepulveda, Calif. and Edgar, Laurens.
