Mrs. Katherine Miller Passes Away Friday

Funeral services were held Monday at one o'clock at the Emil Miller home in Wellsburg, and later at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church in German township, for Mrs. Katherine Miller. Mrs. Miller died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, January 15, at the Nursing Home in Eldora following a heart attack she suffered on the preceding Tuesday.

The services were conducted by the Rev. C. F. Siemsen. Six grandsons, James Miller, Arthur Miller, Donald Miller, Kenneth Ulfers, Joseph Miller and Edward Geerdes acted as pallbearers. The flower attendants were Mrs. Lillie Lindaman and Mrs. John W. Ross. Mrs. Henry Akkerman and Mrs. Delbert Lindaman sang, accompanied by Mrs. Fred Feikes, who was organist.

Interment was in the East Friesland Church cemetery.

Katherine Agena Miller was born April 30, 1873, in Ogle County, Illinois. With her parents, Emil and Anna Agena, and her brother and sisters, she came to Parkersburg on March 12, 1885.

She was united in marriage to Hieko Miller on March 23, 1893, and they moved to a farm near Cleves, where they lived until retiring to Grundy Center in 1926. Mr. Miller died in 1944.

Mrs. Miller had been a resident of the Eldora Nursing Home for the past four years. She was a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Ellen (Mrs. Clarence Ulfers) of Ackley, and Ann of Independence; seven sons, Jake of Morrison, Emil and David of Wellsburg, Andrew and George of Ackley, Clarence and Herman of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs. Ida Meester of Parkersburg; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, four brothers and four sisters, one daughter, Anna Ida, in 1903, one grandchild and five great-grandchildren.
