Services were held Saturday afternoon at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church for Philip Snittjer, who passed away at a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, Wednesday evening, November 5. The Rev. C. F. Siemsen conducted the services. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Prayer service for the family was held at the home before the church service.

Philip Dirk Snittjer, son of Menno and Anna Roelfs Snittjer, was born in Grundy County May 15, 1916. He grew to manhood in the parental home, and was graduated from the Wellsburg High School.

On March 21, 1940, he and Bertha Mae Tripp were married, and they lived on farms in Grundy and Hardin county.

He joined the East Friesland Presbyterian Church on March 27, 1938 and remained a faithful member until his death. He had been a trustee for three years and up to the present had been an usher.

Three weeks ago he became ill and after a few days was taken to the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, where he died suddenly and unexpectedly of a coronary attack Wednesday evening.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae; and his brother Simon of Wellsburg. His parents preceded him in death.
