Albert Kruse Dies Sunday of Heart Attack
Albert H. Kruse of Steamboat Rock died of a heart attack Sunday morning at about 10 o'clock in front of the East Friesland Church. Mr. Kruse had been attending Sunday School and complaining of not feeling well, had gone out to get some fresh air. He had suffered a severe heart attack earlier this summer while on a trip, and was brought back to a hospital in Waterloo by plane.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Haje Kruse, he was born in German township, Grundy county, September 17, 1892. He married Martha Hinrichs in 1917, and to them four sons were born, Andrew, Paul, Kalvin and Dwayne. Mrs. Kruse died in 1933.
In 1948, Mr. Kruse married Johanna Mennenga, and they had one son, Curtis.
He was a faithful member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Johanna; his five sons, Andrew, Paul and Kalvin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dwayne of Tallahassee, Fla., and Curtis of Steamboat Rock. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ella Miller of Wellsburg, Mrs. Stena Jaspers of Steamboat Rock, and Mrs. James Ruter of Ackley; four brothers, Jake, Harm and Tom of Ackley, and Cornelius of Waterloo; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the East Friesland Church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, with the Rev. C. F. Siemsen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
