Services Held Saturday for Ubbe Beving

Ubbe Beving, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away on Thursday, August 11. Mr. Beving had been ailing for some time, but had been bedfast for only two weeks before his death.

He was born in Grundy county January 20, 1875, the son of Ubbe and Janna Beving. On November 17, 1893, he and Elizabeth Bunger were married, and they farmed in Grundy county until 1930, when they moved to Ackley. For a number of years he was field man for the Marshall Canning company.

In 1936 they built the house at 910 Park Ave., where they lived until Mrs. Beving's death, March 14, 1949, and where Mr. Beving continued to make his home until he died.

Mr. Beving had been a member of the East Friesland church since his boyhood.

He is survived by his children, Harry, Arthur and Joe Beving, Mrs. Elmer Flessner and Mrs. Albert Fritz, all of Ackley; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Dooks, of Spencer, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Anderson of Mission, Texas, and Mrs. Dick Janssen of Milford.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and at 2 o'clock at the Eastfriesland church, with the Rev. C. F. Siemsen conducting. Burial was in the church cemetery.
