Funeral Services For Arend Arends Held Saturday P.M.

Funeral services for Arend Arends were held Saturday, September 14, at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church of Ackley with William Seybert, student pastor, in charge. The Rev. Peter Eckhoff of Aplington assisted. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Arends passed away September 12 at the Long Nursing Home in Iowa Falls following a long illness.

Arend Arends was born near Austinville in Butler County, October 16, 1888, to Kasper and Clara Arends. He was married December 8, 1915 to Reka Sinning of Ackley. They farmed near Wellsburg for some years and also near Ackley and Iowa Falls before retiring in 1951 to a home in Ackley. He was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Arends is survived by his wife, Reka; one brother, Henry of Waterloo; a half-brother, Henry of Jeffers, Minnesota and a half-sister, Dena Winterbour of Everly. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two half-brothers.
