Austinville--Funeral services for Peter J. Rops, 69, who died early Monday after a long illness at his home in Austinville, will be Wednesday from his home and the Christian Reformed church in Austinville at 1:30 p.m.; burial in Eastfriesland Presbyterian church cemetery six miles southeast of Ackley; born Nov. 13, 1881, in The Netherlands and came to the United States in 1900, making his home in the vicinity of Austinville, where he had always lived; married Martha Harken who died in 1918; leaves three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Mrs. May Jacobs, at home; Mrs. Everett Dietz, 219 Duryea street, Waterloo; two sons, Ubbe, State Center and John, Austinville; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Rev. John Rops, Lennox, S.D.; George, Austinville, and Harm, Allison; three sisters, Mrs. Juren Kramer, Shell Rock; Mrs. John Nevenhoven, Aplington, and Mrs. Fred TerHark, Austinville; was employed by the county until he retired.
