Services Held for Miss Ann M. Harken At St. John's Church

Ackley--Miss Ann M. Harken passed away early Monday morning, February 24, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo where she had been a patient since the previous Tuesday. Prayer service was held Wednesday at the Fritz Funeral Home and funeral services followed at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. John Heinbuch, Jr. officiating. Burial was in West Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Miss Harken, the daughter of Isebrandt K. and Siebentje Brass Harken, was born May 29, 1895 at Austinville. She lived with her parents on a farm south of Austinville and in 1918 the family moved into Ackley. Miss Harken was employed as housekeeper for Rube Fisher for 27 years.

Since her father's death she had been a member of St. John's Church, previous to which she was a member of the Westfriesland Church.

Preceding her in death were her father in 1926 and her mother in 1930, two sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Rykena and Mrs. Martha Stubbe, both of Ackley and one brother, J. K. Harken of Jesup.
